Lampshades

Line 3 or 4.5 cu. ft carton with tissue paper, leaving enough paper hanging over sides to cover shade. Use a dishpack for smaller shades and glass chimneys.

Handling shade by wire frames, place in box; cover with tissue paper.

Pack crumpled tissue paper (not newsprint) around sides. Fold lining over top.

Note: Lampshades may be nested if possible. (Do not nest silk shades.) Never place other articles in same carton with shades.

Lampbases

Remove light bulb and lamp harp.

Wrap all components separately in newsprint.

Place base upright, bottom first, along with harp in appropriate-size carton.

More Helpful Tips:
Keep utility services like electric, phone and gas, functioning until the day after your household goods are loaded. The quality of our service to you, our customer, depends upon our being able to reach you promptly.

Make sure that small items of value such as jewelry, stamp collections, photo albums, legal documents, tax information, etc., have been removed from your home prior to packing day. It would be difficult to replace items such as these if they went astray during your move.

On packing day, take a few moments to discuss with your packer, how the items in each room should be labeled once they have been boxed and wrapped. Will all the "living room" items remain in the same area in your new home? Perhaps you have purchased a larger home and some of those items will be retiring to the new "den".

Realize the importance of your Household Goods Inventories. Your northAmerican driver will make up a complete inventory of all items to be moved. These documents serve as valuable tools throughout your move. By actively participating in the completion of the inventory, you and your driver will be in agreement as to what items were loaded from your home into his truck. Also take note of the condition of these items before they are loaded.

When you arrive at your destination, take the time to check off each item on the inventory as it is unloaded from the truck and brought into your new home. This will ensure that all your belongings have made the trip safely.

Last but not least, when the final item is loaded on to the truck on moving day, take a walk through each room of your home. Open closet doors and cabinets to make sure nothing has been left behind.

Then relax! You've done a GREAT JOB!!
